About Frank

Archetypal product of the « Enfant du Rock » generation, Frank is hired in 1989 by Duran, as an assistant man Friday, a position tailor-made for him. He particularly becomes close to the mop and he quickly gains the status of person in charge of the coffee machine. It’s in that very place, the temple of TV prestige, that he watches, as a privileged  witness, the embryonic images of artists such as Jean Batiste Mondino, Stéphane Sednaoui, Michel Gondry and many others.

While Telecine is stuttering and is the dream of only spotty technicians in white coats and with 4-color ballpoint pens, Frank sees in there the opportunity, through their rushes,  to decipher, the often  sick minds of his idols. He discovers a wonderful world of lights and colors that still fascinates him today.

That’s when he meets another visionary, Jean-Clément Soret, probably the best colorist of all time. That’s the beginning of a long collaboration that lasted more than ten years. Frank joins his mentor in London, working for six years at Moving Picture Company. The French duet quickly becomes  essential and is lucky enough to work with the greatest directors. They are acclaimed by their peers and showered with prizes, glory, money…

That’s too much, Frank decides to quit everything to devote himself solely to directing. For four years, the greatest artists want to work with him and he directs dozens of videoclips, the whole world asks for him.

But he’s haunted by his first love, one night, he wakes up sweating, obsessed with poogle, suchi, light, colors…

The penny drops.

Is life worth living without any control on color, contrast and the tracking of a potato matte?

He can’t help himself, he has the irrepressible desire to go back to his former trade. That’s how he trains on the Baselight and the Resolve machines which, as of today, he knows as the back of his hand.

After many adventures, Frank is nowadays a happy being, blooming and accomplished, more than ever ready to listen to and to work for directors and talents of today and tomorrow… and even perhaps of the day after…

Pur produit de la génération « Enfant du Rock »,  c’est en 1989 que Frank se fait embaucher chez Duran en tant "qu’assistant grouillot », un poste à sa dimension crée tout spécialement pour lui. Il est plus particulièrement attaché à la serpillière et à force de pugnacité devient rapidement responsable de la machine à café.

C’est là, dans le « temple » du prestige télévisuel qu’il observe en témoin privilégié les images en gestation d'artistes tels que Jean Batiste Mondino, Stéphane Sednaoui, Michel Gondry et bien d’autres...

Alors que le Telecinema en était encore à ses balbutiements et ne faisait alors rêver que des techniciens boutonneux équipés de blouses blanches et de stylos 4 couleurs, Frank y voit l’opportunité de décrypter, à travers leurs rushes, les cerveaux souvent malades de ses idoles. Il y découvrira un monde merveilleux de lumière et de couleur qui le fascine encore aujourd’hui.

C’est à cette époque qu’il croise un autre illuminé, Jean Clément Soret, sans doute le meilleur étalonneur de tous les temps. C’est le début d’une longue collaboration qui durera plus de 10 ans,  Frank rejoint son mentor à Londres où il passe six années chez Moving Picture Compagny. Le french duo devient vite incontournable et a la chance de travailler avec les plus grands réalisateurs. Ils sont encensés par leurs pairs, couverts de prix, de gloire, d’argent...

C’en est trop, Frank décide de tout plaquer pour se consacrer exclusivement à la réalisation. Pendant 4 ans les plus grands artistes Français se disputent ses services, il réalise alors des dizaines de clip, le monde entier le réclame !

Mais ses premiers amours le hantent, une nuit il se reveille en sueur en pensant au poogle, aux suchis, à la lumière, aux couleurs...

C’est le déclic.

La vie vaut elle vraiment la peine d’étre vécue si l’on ne contrôle ni la couleur, ni le contraste ni le track d'un cache patate? C’est plus fort que lui, il éprouve le besoin irrépressible de retrouver son premier métier. C’est ainsi qu’il se forme rapidement sur le Baselight et le Resolve qui n’ont aujourd’hui plus aucun secret pour lui.

Après moult aventures, Frank est aujourd’hui un être heureux, épanoui et accompli, plus que jamais à l’écoute et à la disposition des réalisateurs et talents d’aujourd’hui et de demain… et même peut être d’après demain.
